Golden Lap cuts management down to the calls that decide a race, and that's the part Pit Wall builds on. The difference is how much race you get to read. Pit Wall replaces the track view with a commentary feed and live timing, then adds more to manage on race day: tyre wear in percent, stint plans on a graph, rain that arrives five minutes into your plan. Golden Lap is finished and already on your phone. Pit Wall is still in development.

If you liked Motorsport Manager

Motorsport Manager has the bigger management layer, and on PC you watch the race in 3D. If what kept you playing was calling pit stops and gambling on the weather, Pit Wall is mostly that part, with more to read. You still run a team across a season (four departments, a design chief, drivers to train, a sponsor to keep happy), but the race itself is where most of your decisions happen.
